The Roma Turf club is helping out those who cant get accommodation or find the Roma motel prices a little too much for their budget. Tentcity will be at Bassett Park for Roma Cup – beds, marquee, lights, security, privacy and kind of like camping in style, at half the price. Tent city will take your booking on their site for the weekend of the races.
There are 4 Pubs in town that also have accommodation, The Queens Arms, The Royal, The Club and The Commonwealth Hotels. All have shared bathroom facilities and reasonably priced beds.

Most accommodation places are heavily booked some months out from Roma Cup but there is always camping space at the Bassett Park which requires no prior booking. Tent City is also installed at Roma Cup time – two or three beds, carpet and lighting, close to showers and toilets. Bookings on tentcityhire.com.au
Yep, its a drive for most of you although Qantaslink schedule extra flights over the weekend to help get you to and from the Cup.
From Brisbane – expect a good 6 hours in your vehicle. I Spy, Spotto, Guess the next Roadkill should keep you awake and alert for the duration. No texting, no Facebooking, no Phone calls unless you are in the back seat, we want you here in one piece and the reception is pretty ordinary between towns anyway.
The Warrego Hwy is mostly held together with chewing gum and there are a few roadworks along the way although a couple of Maccas cafes should tide you over until you see the bright lights and dusty horizon of our bustling Roma township.
For Heaven’s Sake BE CAREFUL. Apart from potholes, a lot of Resources Industry traffic, road trains and the occasional roo, there will be a OODLES of Traffic Police on the road. Every K over etc etc……….
We will have a breathalyser on site Sunday morning to make sure you only hit the home run in good nic.
